What is PDF splitting?
PDF splitting means pulling only certain pages out of a single PDF to make a new PDF, or dividing a document into several files. It is handy for picking out just the pages you need to share, or for breaking a large document into more manageable pieces.
How to split a PDF
- Select a file — drag and drop the PDF to split, or click to open it. The total page count is shown.
- Choose a mode — with "Extract page range" enter the pages you want (e.g. 1-3, 5); with "Split into single pages" every page becomes its own file.
- Split and download — click "Split PDF", then download the result (a PDF or a ZIP).
How do I enter a page range?
Separate multiple items with commas and give a continuous range with a hyphen. For example, 1-3, 5, 8-10 means pages 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, and 10. Reversed ranges are sorted automatically, and values outside the document's page count are reported as an error.
What happens when I split into single pages?
Every page of the document is split into its own one-page PDF, bundled into a single ZIP file for download. Each file name includes its page number, like page-01.pdf, so the order stays easy to recognize.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Splitting happens entirely inside your browser, so your files are never sent to or stored on a server. You can safely split sensitive documents such as contracts or statements too. The processing library is downloaded just once on your first split and cached after that.
Can I split password-protected PDFs?
PDFs locked with an open password cannot be split as-is and will be shown as an error. Please first make a copy with the password removed, then upload it. Corrupted files are filtered out the same way.
