What is image resizing?
Image resizing means changing the pixel dimensions (width and height) of a photo or graphic to the values you want. It is often needed to meet upload size limits, create thumbnails and profile pictures, or match screen and print specifications.
How to change an image's size
- Select an image — drag the image you want to resize onto the area or click to open it. The original size is shown.
- Set the size — type a width and height or press a percentage button like 25% or 50% (aspect ratio can be locked).
- Resize & Download — click the button and the converted image is saved right away.
Can I resize while keeping the aspect ratio?
Yes. When Lock aspect ratio is on, changing the width automatically adjusts the height, and changing the height adjusts the width, to keep the original proportions. To avoid stretching the image, adjust it with the ratio locked.
What format is it saved in?
You can keep the original format or choose JPG, PNG, or WebP. JPG and WebP are smaller and suit photos, while PNG and WebP are best when you need a transparent background.
Can I enlarge beyond the original size?
Enlarging is possible, but it cannot invent detail that was not there, so making an image larger than the original can look blurry or jagged. If sharpness matters, we recommend scaling down to the original size or smaller.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Resizing happens entirely inside your browser, so images are never sent to or stored on a server. You can process even sensitive photos with peace of mind.
