How to add a watermark to a PDF

What characters can I use as a watermark?
You can use any characters that appear on screen — letters, numbers, and symbols. Because this tool draws your text as an image and lays it onto the page, it is not limited to any particular language's font. Type anything you like, such as CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, or a company name.
Can I adjust the intensity and angle of the watermark?
Yes. You can adjust the intensity (opacity) with a slider, choose a diagonal or horizontal direction, and pick the size and color (gray, red, blue, or black). Lower the intensity for a subtle mark over the body text, or raise it for a stronger one.
Can I remove the watermark later?
The watermark is drawn onto each page and saved, so it is hard to cleanly remove later. If you might need the original, keep a separate copy of the file before adding the watermark.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Watermarking happens entirely inside your browser, so your PDF is never sent to or stored on a server. You can safely process sensitive documents too. The processing library is downloaded just once on your first watermark and cached after that.
